Home Remedies - How to kill Fleas with Dawn or Salt or Lysol

99fe7c475348cc94943b5d5df6fc9412.jpg

Dawn. To kill fleas in carpeting, pour one tablespoon Dawn Dishwashing Liquid into a sixteen-ounce trigger-spray bottle. Fill the rest of the bottle with water, shake well, and spray the carpet, upholstery and the floors. The soap dries up the insects, killing them almost instntly. After fifteen minutes, wipe the floors with a damp towel and vacum the carpet. Lysol. Spray the carpet and upholstery with Lysol disinfectant spray. The antiseptic kills fleas. Repeat the following day to kill any newly hatched fleas………………………………………………….. Morton Salt. Sprinkle Morton Salt on carpets, let sit for at least three hours and vacum throughly. Strange facts: An adult female flea can lay one egg every hour during its 3-month life span. The common flea measures one-eighth inch in lenght and can jump up to thirteen inches. Proportionally, that’s the equivalent of a human jumping seven hundred feet.

The Dog that looks like a Panda

Dog takes the Biscuit…

Never let it be said that advertising agencies won’t take a concept originated by someone else, steal it, adapt it and use it to sell stuff to you.
History is littered with ad agencies using their creative talents to spot people with creative talent and creatively use that person’s talent to promote things to us in a talented, creative manner.
Last year the web was collectively ‘ahh’ing’ at the dog that looked like a panda. Look, here he is…
and here again, only in video form (aint this worldwide web wwwonderful?)
the black and white heartbreaker was affectionately labeled a ‘Danda’ by many who marveled at this adorable sight. (Clever, eh? Dog x Panda = Danda. See?)
And today, apro pos of nothing in particular…a ‘Danda’ finds it way onto our TV screens to sell us biscuits.

The Oldest organization America Humane say’s Ceasar Millan tactics inhumane I do not agree

0041-0702-2713-1422_tn.jpgThe America Humane society sent a letter to National Geographic channel requesting that they cancel the Dog Whispers show on animal planet saying he used several inhumane tactics on his t.v. show and that in Britan they have a Dog Whisper of their own who is much better. This is why I disagree and think they are just jealous of our Dog Whisper because he is the most famous and well known Dog Whisper in the world. I have watched many of Ceasar Millans traning tactics on Animal Planet and I have never seen him use inhumane tactics. But still the oldest america humane society sent a letter to National Geographics, the letter requests that National Geographic stop airing the program immediately and issue a statement explaining that the tactics featured on the program are inhumane, and it encourages National Geographic to begin developing programming that sets a positive example by featuring proper, humane animal training. In its letter, American Humane said: “We believe that achieving the goal of improving the way people interact with their pets would be far more successful and beneficial for the National Geographic Channel if it ceased sending the contradictory message that violent treatment of animals is acceptable. HOw many of you like and watch the DOg Whisper’s showon animal planet? Do you agree that he is inhumane in the way he treats his dogs while he trains them? Me… I do not!! Be sure and leave your comments if you want to be heard…Written by lilruth if you want to FOLLOW ME Im on Twitter

The “Very Old Stray (the Old Fella Story)”

story108.pngI came across a story in a magazine that really touched my heart.. As I read this story I felt a special bond with this man Richard for I identified with him for I have the same kind of heart as Richard does filled with love for these unforunate animals that are alone and abandoned and on the streets hungry. Hopefully not for long, for as long as their are people like Richard and Myself who care, some of these dogs will find their way into someone’s loving home. So Im hoping that by sharing this story with you it will open your hearts and you all will reach out and help a stray dog and make these dogs lives better…. Now the Story:
When Richard and his wife Sue hopped into their RV and set out for a relaxing Labor Day vacation in 2005, they had no idea their lives were about to change forever. Resting at the Modoc Campground in South Carolina, the couple met their new life companion—in the form of an old, wounded stray dog. Richard and Sue took in the dog, who they named Old Fella, and nursed him back to health. A member of the Good Sam Club, the world’s largest RV owner’s organization, Richard began sharing his experiences on the organization’s RV.net forums and quickly discovered a vast following of other club members that sent him words of encouragement and monetary donations towards Old Fella’s medical bills. Through the “Very Old Stray (the Old Fella Story)” thread, the forum members eventually convinced Richard to establish his own animal shelter, Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue (OFBCAR), which has saved more than 100 dogs and placed them in good homes.

Sadly, Old Fella passed away this June after struggling for months with arthritis and bone cancer. In loving memory of Old Fella and his legacy as an animal rescue icon, Richard and his devoted animal-loving community will be erecting a statue of Old Fella in the First National Bank Park in Waynesboro, Ga. in 2009. In another remarkable story, Richard spearheaded an effort to transport a disabled dog to her new home across the country by fellow RV.net forum members. In an effort coordinated by postings on the site, Anna, a Labrador retriever who had a leg amputated, was relayed from RV to RV from Georgia to Washington State. Through OFBCAR and RV.net, Richard has not only found homes for these animals, but also blessed families around the country with lifelong companions of their own.

Inspired by his dedication and contagious generosity towards stray animals, Highways Magazine has honored Waynesboro, Ga. native Richard Daniels with the first-ever Good Sam Club’s RVer of the Year award. As a tribute to his humanitarian contributions, Highways will feature Richard on the front cover of its January 2009 issue. Source: Lilyruth & doggieaficionado magazine

Barack Obama has officially unveiled Bo the presidential pooch

Published by lilyruth under Barack Obama Edit This

_45515911_924101a0-9690-4907-ab0e-83dbe6dd56091.jpg BO- A Portugueze Water Dog……… Barack Obama has officially unveiled Bo the presidential pooch, praising its “star quality” to reporters.

The “First Puppy” - a six-month-old black-and-white Portuguese water dog - frolicked with Mr Obama and his family on the White House South Lawn.

Mr Obama promised his daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, seven, a dog to reward them for coping with his campaign.

The dog does not shed hair and is said to be less aggravating for Malia who suffers from allergies.

While Mr Obama’s wife held Bo on a leash for reporters to admire, her husband proudly announced: “He’s got star quality.”

Choosing the First Puppy

Bo - who sports a white chest, white paws and a white goatee - was named by the Obama daughters.

He was a gift from a close friend of the family, Democratic Senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts.

Mr Kennedy, who owns three water dogs himself, said in January that he was “proud to endorse the Portuguese water dog as the next First Dog of the United States”.

He said the breed would be a “perfect fit for the Obama Family” as the dogs have a “can-do and hopeful spirit” and were smart, resilient, determined, optimistic and tireless.

The choice of the US presidential pooch had been a pet topic for the nation’s press ever since Mr Obama promised his daughters a puppy during the campaign.

Say No to Puppy Mills Vote Now Thumbs Up

081116_dog_food_bowl.jpg“Puppy mills” are breeding operations in which dogs are repeatedly bred for financial gain and kept in substandard conditions, confining dogs to small cages under squalid living conditions for their entire lives. These poor creatures commonly suffer from various infections and parasites due to poor care, with chronic health and behavioral problems in the puppies.

They sell primarily to retail pet shops and occasionally directly to consumers. The dogs are force-bred continuously with no concern for their physical health or psychological well-being, and most are disease-ridden.I try to bring awareness to fight against animal cruelty by posting dog stories and dog newsand to say NO to puppy mills. I also enjoy posting good happy stories about our unmentioned heros our dogs who love and protect us and who are or best friends.
